Both CNN and NBC News reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller met with Christopher Steele, the former Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) agent who helped create the bombshell dossier full of allegations against Donald Trump.
Though Trump dismissed the entire scandal as false, he has become quite the unreliable narrator.
And Mueller himself having met with Steele does indicate that the report was taken seriously by U.S. Intelligence Community.
Fusion GPS, an investigative firm in D.C., was hired by as yet unknown Republican insiders in order to dig up dirt on our current president.
The head of Fusion GPS hired Steele, who happens to be an expert on Russia, to help research Trump’s ties to Moscow.
Hilarity sort of ensues as Republican Senator Richard Burr (NC) lamented in a press conference, “The committee cannot really decide the credibility of the dossier without understanding things like, who paid for it?
Who are your sources and sub-sources?”
The fact is that we don’t yet know the sources and sub-sources, but it’s a lot of fun to have The Golden Dossier back in the news cycle again. Can you imagine watching Steele testify to the veracity of its contents?
