Just when you thought Trump’s belligerent tweets had said it all, we now reach a new low. CNN legal analyst Jeff Toobin claims that this one may actually be an “impeachable offense.”
The Twitter universe has watched recently as the President cut loose an offensive onslaught of attacks against Attorney General Jeff Sessions over the indictments of two GOP Congressmen.
The two Congressmen causing such a fierce defense from the commander in chief are Chris Collins, (R-N.Y) who was indicted over insider trading, and Duncan Hunter (R- Calif.), indicted over the illegal use of campaign funds for personal spending.
Toobin, on CNN’s New Day had this to say:
.@JeffreyToobin on President Trump blasting AG Sessions over indictments of GOP congressmen: “This tweet alone may be an impeachable offense. This is such a disgrace.” https://t.co/DUNMQ61sv3 pic.twitter.com/3FUeL39bqf

Of course Trump sees these indictments as a threat to election results this November claiming that Sessions has now endangered what he considered “easy wins” tweeting,
“Two long running, Obama era, investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-Terms, by the Jeff Sessions Justice Department. Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time. Good job Jeff,” he stated, and adding finally, “Democrats, none of whom voted for Jeff Sessions, must love him now.”
Trump is facing backlash from both sides of the aisle on this one, many lawmakers – republican and democrat alike – citing him for coming down on Sessions and the DOJ in such an insolent manner. Some might say we should be used to these Twitter tirades by now and question how this one is any different/worse?
But Trump’s fits of rage against Sessions’ stance on these indictments represent a new angle in targeting the value and merit of the DOJ and frankly, according to Toobin, are “an insult to the decent people who work at the Department of Justice.”
