Before she became the White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany was an outspoken critic of the man she is now responsible for defending and praising and there is plenty of video evidence to show it.
When President Trump was candidate Trump in 2015, McEnany appeared on CNN and Fox Business and slammed Trump for comments he had made about Mexican immigrants. She called the comments “racist” and, along with suggesting that Trump wasn’t a serious candidate, she also called him a “showman.” She used the words “sideshow”, “inauthentic”, and “unfortunate” when describing what it was like to claim him as a Republican.

CNN shared some highlights in a montage that is likely to make for some awkward moments as she is now poised to have to be Trump’s fiercest advocate.
McEnany also used Trump’s favorite platform, Twitter, to dump on him before she started changing her attitude toward him in the summer of 2015.

By the time the 2016 election arrived, McEnany was a pro-Trump commentator for CNN. She then moved to the position of spokesperson for the Republican National Committee. And just like that she was working on Trump 2020 re-election campaign. Pretty severe turnaround for someone who accused the man of “racist” remarks just the year before.
Last month, she stepped into her new role as White House press secretary. McEnany becomes the fourth to hold the position in the Trump administration after Sean Spicer, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Stephanie Grisham. During her first press briefing she pledged to never lie to the media.
Since she has already spouted off falsely about the coronavirus and former President Barack Obama, her pledge isn’t being given much consideration. She also made the outlandish suggestion that President Trump has never lied to the public, so her credibility is on thin ice, if not completely sunk altogether.
