Since Trump has been elected, Fox News has devolved from an intensely right-leaning news organization to little more than a propaganda arm of the Trump White House. On numerous occasions, I’ve called ‘Fox & Friends’, President Trump’s favorite show on his own network.
Last week, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show released a mash-up in which Fox News’ coverage of President Trump’s meeting with Kim Jong-un is juxtaposed against the coverage that emerged from state-run North Korean run. The clip features runs for roughly a minute and a half, and shows various Fox News personalities talking about Trump’s meeting with Kim earlier in June. Those clips were then followed by eerily similar statements, including obligatory celebratory commentary about Kim from “news” personalities on North Korean TV.
“Only days ago, President Trump ushered in a new era of diplomacy,” says Fox News host Sean Hannity in one clip, followed by a North Korean state TV presenter saying of Kim: “Our venerable supreme leader comrade opened a new, triumphant era of diplomacy.”

There are a handful of other clips, with the rhetoric about each leader being nearly identical. Take Fox’s Jeanine Pirro saying of Trump: “This is something that many analysts and pundits thought was totally impossible,” followed immediately by a North Korean TV presenter saying: “Who could have imagined that this moment was possible?!”
But the real highlight of the Fox News end of the mashup is undoubtedly Lou Dobbs’ effusive gushing that Donald Trump has found “continued success in his every undertaking, whether in domestic politics, international trade, or foreign policy.” adding , “President Trump [is] standing taller than ever on the world stage.”
The North Korean presenters cannot really be blamed as they’re at risk of things such as murder, generational murder, and/or generational incarceration. The same excuses cannot be made for the mouthpieces at Fox News.
