Monday night, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel told a joke, which is kind of what he does. In that particular instance, he played a video clip of Melania Trump reading a book to children at the White House Easter egg roll. Kimmel then repeated the words Melania has read, in a subtle accent, before turning to his sidekick and saying, “You know what that means? You could be first lady!”
Kimmel’s sidekick, Guillermo Rodriguez, happens to be a Latino immigrant with a pretty heavy accent.
For reasons known only to Sean Hannity, Kimmel’s joke apparently shook him to his very core. First, Hannity used Fox News to call Kimmel both a “despicable disgrace” and an “ass clown.”
Hannity then seemed to go completely off the rails — and lost his own grasp of English with this tweet:
Prediction, mr tough guy @jimmykimmel (Harvey Weinstein jr) who picks on woman helping kids and is a pervert with young woman, will likely not be responding any time soon. His 100 writers are likely sleeping. @Disney #pervertkimmel https://t.co/MI8e4cuRZF

The Fox News host then dropped all pretense and started addressing Kimmel as Weinstein himself. That’s how pissed off he was that Kimmel gently ribbed Melania Trump.
And, yet, when Michelle Obama was First Lady, nothing was off-limits. Hannity even picked apart her wardrobe and mocked her efforts encouraging childhood education and nutrition quite regularly. In case you have forgotten — and who can blame you if you had — Melania Trump’s only cause to-date has been to combat cyber-bullying. Though to-date, the only initiative she’s taken was to host a UN Luncheon.
So the hypocrisy is outrageous, but so is the fact that he reduced the seriousness of what some 80 women suffered at the hands of Harvey Weinstein in order to fire a wild shot at Jimmy Kimmel.
Kimmel since released a statement indicating he did not intend to continue participating in the feud with Hannity.
