New York City is Donald Trump’s hometown. If you’ll recall, 79% of that voting bloc opted for Hillary Clinton, despite Trump having tossed his name on sundry buildings throughout the area. Trump Tower stands as a fossil to bygone era of 1980s New York City consumerism. We, the taxpayers, paid handsomely to maintain that monstrosity as a 3rd presidential residence, with Mar-a-Lago being the second.
So… should we surmise that Trump isn’t absolutely adored in his hometown? There aren’t frequent polls of single metropolitan areas. The most recent I could find, however, did not bode well for Donald Trump. From November 2017, and conducted by Spectrum 1 NYNews (NY1).
Extracted NY1’s a survey regarding Trump’s performance as President and Cuomo’s performance as governor:
In general, do you approve or disapprove of the job Donald Trump is doing as President?
Not sure 9%
So, it appears Trump is not a favored son. This comes as a surprise to no one, apart perhaps from Donald Trump. But what about Rudy Giuliani? Has he become a New Yorker non grata due to his antics during the 2016 election and his current position on Trump’s legal team?
Apparently so, as the the 74-year-old former New York City mayor a wished happy birthday by the announcer at a Yankees game and the tweet below shows the response Giuliani received.

Happy birthday, Giuliani. Keep licking Trump’s boots and maybe next year the Bronx cheers will be deafening!
