Omarosa Manigault Newman rose to fame reality television — The Apprentice, and its various franchise shows, to be exact. She later found herself Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liason in Trump’s White House. Her exit from the Trump administration was reportedly quite dramatic and included her tripping White House security alarms when she tried to enter a residence from which she had lost security access.
“Donald rambled. He spoke gibberish. He contradicted himself from one sentence to the next,” Manigault-Newman wrote.
Manigault-Newman claimed that Trump had actually been prepped to say former FBI Director James Comey was fired on the recommendation of the Department of Justice and that his termination had nothing to the Russia investigation.
In her book, Omarosa writes:
“While watching the interview I realized that something real and serious was going on in Donald’s brain. His mental decline could not be denied. Many didn’t notice it as keenly as I did because I knew him way back when. They thought Trump was being Trump, off the cuff. But I knew something wasn’t right.”
Since departing the White House, Omarosa has already stoked public interest by discussing her tenure in the Trump administration during a stint on Celebrity Big Brother. She made a number of comments on the show including:
“Can I just say this? As bad as y’all think Trump is, you would be worried about Pence. We would be begging for days of Trump back if Pence became President, that’s all I’m saying. He’s extreme.”
Unhinged will be released on August 14th.
