Last week, former national security adviser John Bolton reportedly went after President Trump for his foreign policy, particularly his Turkey interactions, suggesting that Trump is using his own personal financial interests as motivation.
NBC News reported that Bolton made the remarks at a private global investment event last week held by Morgan Stanley. The report says that Boltog also used this platform to criticize Trump family members Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, who both still work at the White House as aides.
Several people were reported to have heard the comments, with some saying that Bolton also called Trump out for his questionable motives in his dealings with Turkey. Bolton reportedly questioned Trump’s entire decision making process when it comes to foreign policies.
Bolton’s statements come amid the current criticism Trump is facing for his involvement in removing US forces from northern Syria, where Turkish armed forces have invaded Kurdish areas. Of course the impeachment process is keeping Trump in the foreground of political conversations, as well, and House Dems have tried to secure the Bolton testimony for those impeachment hearings.
Bolton also apparently revealed during his speech that he had penned and held onto a resignation letter for months before he finally decided to leave the White House earlier this year. He did not wish to comment on the alleged remarks .
