The Mueller investigation has been lunging forward to reach, by many accounts, what can only be described as the cusp of its climax.
Robert Mueller, once a shadowy figure whose work was shrouded in a cloak of mystery, seems to be laying out his road map for America as more indictments and plea deals continue to dominate the national and international headlines. All this is paralleled by a growing worry and freneticism by Donald Trump, his family, and indeed, his entire administration.
Some of the more unexpected moves include acquiring a warrant to glean valuable information from Facebook about Russian efforts within the United States, as well as working directly with the German Deutsche Bank to capture a comprehensive snapshot of Trump’s financials internationally.
But clearly, Robert Mueller isn’t done with the surprises.
Now ABC News reports that Mueller has issued his first information request the Justice Department itself. The request has been described as “wide-ranging” and includes communications among Justice Department staffers, in addition to any of their communications with White House officials. It is being reported that the firing of former FBI Director James Comey and communications with or about Jeff Sessions are of particular interest.
We can’t be sure what Robert Mueller’s next move will be, but I’m enjoying the show. I’m hoping Act II officially ends with Jared Kushner and Donald Trump Jr.
Make your wagers: impeachment, removal by 25th Amendment, or resignation… before Act III is underway.
