Many of us thought that Nikki Haley’s idiocy and hypocrisy had been held in reserve for various future endeavors to humiliate the United States on the global stage in her inexplicable capacity as United States Ambassador to the United Nations.
We were wrong.
Apparently the former South Carolina can access her special skills whenever needed, and at a moment’s notice. Following the Grammy Awards, Haley decided to chime in with this tweet:
I have always loved the Grammys but to have artists read the Fire and Fury book killed it. Don’t ruin great music with trash. Some of us love music without the politics thrown in it.

Let’s put aside the fact that Haley herself, by way of her tweet, managed to inject just a little more politics into the Grammy Awards. That’s a given.
NBC News correspondent Stephanie Ruhle got right to the heart of the matter by asking on her show, “Is she aware that the president himself went after Jay-Z this weekend?”

Ruhle is correct. But Jay Z, SNL, the NFL, and cherry-picked television ratings are the least of it. Donald Trump has stripped his own office of any semblance of elevation. As may be fitting since he is best known as a reality television star, it’s pretty clear that nobody has done more to blur the lines between politics and entertainment than this president.
Moreover, Trump has inflicting much more lasting damage by doing everything in his power to dismantle the Fourth Estate — right down to the Fake News Awards. This from a man whose on-the-record lies average 5.9 per day.
