The turmoil and corruption within the Trump administration furthers as Bannon, Flynn, and Kushner were implicated in a Middle East nuclear deal.
Information has been released by the House Foreign Affairs and Oversight Committee that Michael Flynn, former Trump appointed National Security Adviser, is confirmed to have attended a meeting between the United States, Russia, and Saudi Arabia regarding building nuclear reactors in the Middle East.
The meeting took place in 2015 when Flynn was working on behalf of U.S. owned oil companies. Flynn failed to disclose this meeting on his application for security clearance after being appointed National Security Adviser – as well as the $25,000 he received for attending the meeting.
Adding fuel to the fire, journalist Anthony Cormier, announced confirmation of a similar meeting attended by Flynn and the king of Jordan – along with Jared Kushner and Steve Bannon on January 5, 2017.
Flynn and Kushner both failed to disclose this meeting on their applications for security clearance as part of the Trump administration. Any details regarding Bannon’s application for security clearance are not yet available.
This meeting is of great importance because it demonstrates the co-mingling of the White House and Donald Trump’s personal business interests. It simply illustrates Trump’s abuse of the power of his office.
The meetings are also of great concern due to the nature of nuclear power and the capabilities it might bring these nations in the Middle East. Simply putting a nuclear power plant into a country in the Middle East is like giving immediate access to nuclear weapons to these countries who have been in conflict for thousands of years.
Is this a smart idea? Probably not. Could U.S. businesses and oil companies profit somehow from building these nuclear facilities? Most definitely! According to Alexandra Bell of the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, giving a country nuclear power “…is like giving a country a nuclear weapons starter kit.”
There is clear collusion between the White House, Trump administration staff, and foreign nations of questionable character. This demonstrates how Trump is willing to sacrifice the honor and best interest of the U.S. and its people in order to further his business interests – as well as those of his family and friends.
