Joe Biden is obviously the frontrunner for the Democratic candidate in the upcoming presidential election and now, with his numbers in polls from key states on the rise, many hope he can not only secure the bid, but secure the presidency, too.
A promising poll from the battleground state of Michigan shows Biden’s has doubled over Trump. In the poll, Biden leads Trump by 12 points, putting him at 53 percent support compared to Trump’s 41 percent. The EPIC-MRA poll was reported by the Detroit Free Press just this weekend.
In January, Biden’s lead was just 6 points ahead of Trump’s when he held 50 percent support and Trump came in with 44 percent, according to another poll from EPIC-MRA.
One key group of voters in the upcoming election will be independent voters and in this recent poll from Michigan, independent voters went for Biden. The newspaper reported that 63 percent of those voters say they support Biden and only 23 percent say they support the sitting president.
Not surprisingly, that poll also found that the majority of voters in Michigan did not approve of Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trump, who abhors ANY poll that doesn’t paint him in a positive light, is surely displeased to see that in this importand battleground state poll, 58 percent of people likely to vote gave him a negative rating. Not exactly the numbers he’s looking for five months from his reelection.
Trump barely eked out a win in Michigan in 2016 and now, amid a global health crisis, economic strain, and escalating racial tensions, his poll numbers are falling.
Even his beloved Fox News recently released a poll showing Trump lagging behind Biden in three different battleground states- Ohio, Wisconsin, and Arizona- all of which he won in 2016.
