President Trump and CNN’s White House correspondent Jim Acosta have had a long standing feud, especially since the president blew up at Acosta during a press briefing in 2018 and had him removed from the White House grounds, revoking his press pass in the process.
Now Acosta has warned America that Donald Trump’s attacks, not just like the one on him personally, but on national news organizations that simply do their jobs to report on his administration, could be setting a tone for all future presidents.
“To our friends in conservative media, Anderson, I say this, it is no guarantee that you get to stay in power forever…
Another administration could come in and do the very same thing to them and say, well, Donald Trump did it.
Guess what, we’re going to do it to you guys, too.”Jim Acosta
Acosta appeared on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360° and said,
Trump has consistently berated reporters and news outlets if they do ANYTHING but shower him with affection and praise.
So when respected media outlets like CNN, MSNBC, and The New York Times criticize him or his administration – which is part of the job sometimes- he plays the victim, calling them “the enemy of the people” on Twitter.
Of course Trump does have his favorites- he’s made no secret that he is a frequent Fox News viewer and Fox Primetime hosts Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson have stumped for Trump and continually push his agendas.
Acosta has just released a new book, cleverly called, “The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America” and has said he wants to look at the bigger picture and ask “is this the kind of country we want to hand off to the next generation?”
