Donald Trump Jr, President Trump’s eldest son and head of the Trump Organization, was interviewed by the conservative One America News Network while attending a premiere for the new film “Death of a Nation.”
The film, by Dinesh D’Souza and endorsed by his father, attempts to draw similarities between American Democrats and Germany’s Nazi Party.
Donald Jr said:
“I’ve been hearing the left talking about these things ― fascism, Nazism on the right — and when you look at the actual history of how these things evolved, and you actually look at that platform versus the platform of the modern left, you say, ‘Wait a minute, those two are very heavily aligned and, frankly, contrary to the right.”
Trump Jr went on to say that people shouldn’t trust what they were taught in history class because “academia has been so wrongly influenced by the left.”
At no point during the interview was the president’s eldest son asked about the support his father enjoys from actual white supremacists and neo-Nazis. But he did feel the need to blather on:
“You see the Nazi platform in the early 1930s and what was actually out there, and you look at it compared to, like, the DNC platform of today, and you’re saying, ‘Man, those things are awfully similar,’ to the point where it’s actually scary,” Trump added. “To me, that was one of the most striking things I took from the movie because it’s the exact opposite.”
Death of a Nation currently enjoys a zero percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
PS folks – Don’t be fooled by the misinformation claiming that today’s Republicans represent what the party did from the mid-19th century through the early 20th century. The parties have effectively come to represent the exact opposite – this is well-documented and traceable fact that is covered in virtually every high-school American History text book.
Anyone who suggests that today’s Republicans would be the party of Lincoln is a liar.
