In a carefully coordinated show of solidarity, dozens of female lawmakers dressed in all white ensembles for Tuesday night’s State of the Union address and have received the kind of backlash we’ve come to expect from Trump supporters everywhere. But Trump’s own son, Donald Trump Jr., took to Twitter to offer criticism and may have just accidentally called HIMSELF out in the process.
His particular problem with the women from that night? None of the congresswomen were wearing the American flag pin. He posted a meme with a picture of all the women dressed in white with the words “NOT ONE AMERICAN FLAG PIN AMONG THEM” and added “Speaks for itself and no one is at all surprised.” Trump Jr. is almost as active on Twitter with his constant bickering, hateful memes, and half facts as his President father and this night was no exception.
The ironic beauty of this insult was pointed out by another Twitter user who was quick to produce a picture of the Trump family, including Donald Trump Jr., also taken the night of the SOTU and, you guessed it, not a single American flag pin to be seen in the whole lot of Trumps.
Tweet after tweet rolled in after that as users kept clapping back at Donald Trump Jr., with one post saying “Trump’s prefer Russian Flags” and some even posting pics of Republican politicians at the speech MINUS the apparently all-important American flag pin. A flurry of Twitter users were all having the same thoughts, it seemed:

And honestly the idea that your patriotism is tied to an American flag pin that was made in China is all kinds of messed up.— Anonymous Source (@404UserNotFond) February 6, 2019
