At a recent Black Lives Matter protest in Branson, Missouri, a woman wearing one of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” hats praised the Ku Klux Klan and promised to teach hate to her grandchildren all the while waving a confederate flag.
The woman, identified as Kathy Jenkins, said, “I’m teaching them to fuckin’ hate all of you people… I will teach my grandkids to hate you all.”
She can be seen in videos in the back of a pickup truck, waving the flag, raising her fist, and shouting, “KKK belief!”
Musician and actor Ice T joined many on social media to share the footage:
Branson Mayor Edd Akers spoke out on Facebook in a statement saying that the city “does not condone any type of hate speech.”
Protesters were gathered outside a store called Dixie Outfitters, owned by Anna and Nathan Robb, which is known for selling Confederate-themed merchandise. Nathan Robb is the son of KKK leader Thomas Robb.
The News-Leader reported in 2015 that Nathan Robb actually tried to adopt a highway at one time and rename it after the KKK. His wife Anna said that while they attended KKK events “years ago” it’s “not even something that comes up anymore.”
