CNN’s Anderson Cooper responded to ongoing Trump tweets in which he continues to disseminate the lie that he beat Hillary Clinton in the popular vote in the 2016 presidential election.
Yes, he actually thinks that by spreading this lie, he will somehow make it truth.
Anderson begins by reminding his viewers that Trump suffers from historically-low approval ratings. But if you’re Donald Trump, you can pay no mind. Because according to Trump, the most important driver measured in the latest polling is a his support among his voters – which still remains (shamefully) high.
Trump responded to the polls on Twitter (of course), where he said, “New polls out today are very good considering that much of the media is FAKE and almost always negative. Would still beat Hillary in popular vote. ABC News/Washington Post Poll (wrong big on election) said almost all stand by their vote on me & 53% said strong leader.”
Well Anderson Cooper was more than happy to call Bull S*** on Trump’s lie.
“I don’t even know that I need to say this: He did NOT beat Hillary Clinton in the popular vote. She beat him by almost 2.9 million votes. Now this might seem like a minor point – sour grapes from the Democrats. Old news. Not even worth mentioning. But let’s just think for a moment how unusual it should be for a President of the United States to cavalierly and repeatedly say things that are simply not true. It isn’t something we should be desensitized to. He didn’t win the popular vote. And for the record, there is no evidence of millions of illegal votes by millions of illegal immigrants – another claim he made and never prove…”
And he doesn’t stop there – he goes on to list several lies that continue to be perpetuated by the President…and then reminds America that when a president lies about things that are easily disproven, that is FAKE NEWS.
Anderson, let us be the first to say, THANK YOU for keeping them honest…
